Using sewing as the common thread, the non-profit Dayton Sewing Collaborative connects the sewing, textile, soft-goods and fashion communities to realize new economic, creative and civic opportunities. The Dayton Sewing Collaborative is focused on four areas:
Entrepreneurial Development – providing equipment, tools, support infrastructure and studio space to support sewing and textile related businesses.
Workforce Development – working with area manufacturers and community organizations on the Train to Sew Program that prepare individuals for employment in the sewing industry.
Micro-Manufacturing – offering sewing services for soft-goods designers, creating custom goods, or house-branded products to sell, with all proceeds used to fund Dayton Sewing Collaborative initiatives.
Creative Community Collaboration – a Makerspace, bringing the community together.
